Focus on knowledge sharing, not giving out advice.

There are plenty of places online where we can dole out our expert opinions. We want to instead foster an environment where healthy debate is encouraged and everyone is celebrated for sharing their questions, stories, and perspectives. Our goal is to tackle big questions and work together to discover all of the potential answers. That can only happen when we are committed to collaboration and true knowledge sharing. 

Be respectful and kind.

Please be kind and constructive when you add a new post, ask a question, or comment on someone else’s contribution. Direct and constructive feedback is helpful but being mean isn’t. Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences and be careful in the words that you choose — avoid conduct or speech which might be considered sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory or offensive in nature.  

Provide context.

We love it when our members share links and resources. But don’t simply post the link — add some commentary or give us some context so that we can understand more about why you care about this particular topic or article. 

Resolve conflicts and differences. 

What’s worse than having a conflict? Not resolving it and letting it come between us, Don’t leave things unsaid. When disagreeing, try to understand why and resolve issues constructively. 

Please don’t self-promote.

Hear what’s being asked and share what you know for the asker’s benefit, not to promote yourself. Feel free to share your knowledge and experiences with the others here in this community, but please do not promote yourself, your business, a project or even a charity you support in the main feed. Instead, put anything where you have a self-interest in the Shameless Plugs topic area. Spamming and solicitation will not be tolerated.

Avoid harassment and behavior that makes people feel bad.

Simply put, we will not tolerate harassment in any form that it may take. This also includes more subtle forms of bullying, degrading comments, or unwelcoming negativity of any kind that makes people feel bad and shut down and that is destructive to creating a supportive, productive environment. That includes mansplaining,

Reporting and Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

If you see or have experienced unacceptable behavior, please flag it, contact a Host, or email hello@quantam.flywheelsites.com. Our Community Hosts will step in to contact the member privately or remove the offending post.

Understand that speech and actions have consequences, and unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. If violations occur, organizers will take any action they deem appropriate for the infraction, up to and including expulsion, without warning (and without refund in the case of a paid event or subscription). The decision of the Hosts involved in a violation case will be considered final.
